Giyeong Beon is an associate researcher with Climate Change and Sustainability Program at Taejae Future Consensus Institute. At Taejae FCI, she specifically focuses on U.S.-China cooperation on climate change and global governance reform to accelerate the transition to net zero. Before she joined Taejae FCI, she worked as an administrative and financial officer at several institutes, including Yonsei-EU Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence (Yonsei JMCE) and Literature Translation Institute of Korea (LTI Korea).
Beon is also a Ph.D. candidate in Public Policy and Management at Yonsei University. She obtained her master’s and dual bachelor’s degrees at the same university; M.A. in Public Policy and Management, B.A. in Political Science and Diplomacy, and Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in Foreign Affairs. Her research interest lies in inter- and intra-governmental communication, especially in the area of public diplomacy and development cooperation. She published several research articles in peer-reviewed journals, and participated in policy research projects with government agencies such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Korea Culture and Tourism Institute.
