President’s Greeting
Kim Sung-Hwan, President

Hello,
This is Kim Sung-Hwan, President of the Taejae Future Consensus Institute(TFCI)

We are currently witnessing a rapid reshaping of the international order over the strategic competition between the US and China, while the digital revolution continues to accelerate. Humanity is facing a great transition that cannot be avoided. Think tanks now play an increasingly important role in both reading the demands of the times we live in and leading the path forward toward a better future.

The TFCI is a private think tank established to embrace the notion of contributing to shared prosperity for humanity by overcoming the crises we face and putting forward solutions to help achieve sustainable development. Established in December 2015 through private funding from Hanssem founder and honorary president Cho Chang-Gul, the Future Consensus Institute has been dedicated to developing policies for the changes nations will experience in the future. In March 2023, the Future Consensus Institute was reformed into the TFCI. Since then, we have taken our first steps towards formulating leading policies and training talented professionals for the future in partnership with Taejae University, an innovative institute of education.

The TFCI now seeks to grow even further based on two major areas of focus.

The first is moving beyond issues connected to the Korean Peninsula and serving as a leader in long-term, future-oriented research that aligns with changes in the global environment.

The second is preparing for the upcoming digital social revolution and performing research that combines Eastern and Western values through collaboration with leading research institutes and professional organizations in the world.

We look forward to your continued support as the TFCI looks beyond the Korean Peninsula and seeks to develop world-class strategies and train professionals to lead the future of humanity. The TFCI will strive to become firmly established as a think tank that contributes to shared prosperity for all.

March 2023
Kim Sung-Hwan, President
