On June 20, a delegation of next generation policy experts organized by the National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR) paid a visit to the Taejae Future Consensus Institute. NBR is a non-profit research institute that specializes in Asian security and diplomatic affairs and has offices in both Seattle, WA and Washington, DC. This visit was made possible through the Korea Foundation’s next generation network program designed to promote ROK-US exchanges of policy experts.

Led by Mr. Evans Revere, a former US diplomat and top Asia expert, The NBR delegation included a dozen young policy practitioners from organizations such as Meta, the RAND corporation, and the MITRE corporation who are interested in East Asian security. They had meetings at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of National Defense prior to their visit to Taejae. A range of topics were addressed at the roundtable at Taejae, including US-China relations, cross-strait relations, and the North Korean nuclear threat. Taejae’s international advisory board chair, Ambassador Won-soo Kim, and other experts participated in the discussion.
