Ruoying Yu

Ruoying Yu is engaged in research on China’s urbanization and rural migrant workers at TAEJAE Future Consensus Institute in an attempt to provide more innovative perspectives on understanding China. Her expertise is in transformation of the socialist state system, North Korea Economic Policy and China-North Korea relations.

 

From 2020 to the summer of 2022, she was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Institute for Far Eastern Studies of Kyungnam University, appointed by the Academic and Policy Research Projects on North Korea and Unification, which is supported by the Ministry of Unification of ROK. During this period, she focused on research on comparing rural land ownership in North Korea and China. Ruoying earned her Ph.D. in North Korean Studies from Dongguk University, as well as an MA in Korean Modern History studies from Peking University.
