In late July 2020, Yeosijae held to create an opportunity for public participation in the discussion on the future of South Korea. Through the competition, Yeosijae hoped to broaden our perspective and deepen our understanding of future challenges by listening to the voices of different people.

The contest was held between July 24th and August 5th, and winners were announced on August 19th. In this competition, the participants were asked to discuss the following three topics:

(1) Challenges for the next decade that must be tackled by the succeeding administration;
(2) Policy slogan for the next administration to respond to the challenges of the coming decade;
(3) Challenges that must be addressed now for the sake of the next generation.

Yeosijae received a total of 279 submissions for the contest. After much deliberation, we selected 28 outstanding participants who were invited to present their proposals at the finals on the 19th. The finalists were given 5 minutes each to present their policies in front of a panel of judges headed by Director Jae-Ho Yeom.

After the presentations, three grand prize winners were selected from the finalists. Addressing the participants, Director Yeom said, “I had the opportunity to listen to different ideas during this contest, and this is was, perhaps, the most valuable aspect of this competition. Yeosijae will build on the ideas that have been proposed today and work to present content that deals with issues of relevance for South Korea.”

As Director Yeom stated, Yeosijae will continue to make efforts to bring people together to share different ideas. We ask for your continued interest and participation in our activities.
